Cotton Canvas is sized and primed with acrylic gesso. The Gessoed Canvas is mounted to the panel using a reversible conservator’s adhesive. The adhesive forms an archival acrylic waterproof barrier between the canvas and the panel. The canvas can be removed from the panel at any time in the future.

 The rigid panel protects the painting from damage by preventing the canvas from being punctured, dented, or torn. And it ensures that the paint films will be kept from flexing and cracking.

Canvas lies perfectly flat with crisp clean edges that are straight and square. There is a profound presence in a painting done on these art panels mounted with gessoed canvas that cannot be found on canvas that is stretched over canvas stretchers with its rounded edges, folded corners, and fluctuating surface.

Art hangs without framing. The back of the panel has recessed slots so it can be hung flush to the wall in either direction without the need for framing. Canvas Panel can be hung framed or un-framed.
